Keep Your Projector Running Longer

The majority of costly projector failures are preventable with proper maintenance discipline.

01

Filter Cleaning Schedule

Critical for all platforms

Check and clean air filters every 500 hours of operation — more frequently in dusty environments. Blocked filters are the single largest contributor to thermal shutdown and premature lamp/laser failure. Use a vacuum with HEPA filtration; never compressed air on electrostatic filters.

02

Ambient Temperature Control

Environmental management

Christie projectors are rated for specific ambient temperature ranges. Exceeding 35°C ambient significantly accelerates capacitor aging and laser diode derating. Ensure intake and exhaust vents have minimum 30cm clearance. Monitor intake temperature with a remote sensor if the projector is in an enclosed booth.

03

Lamp Hour Monitoring

Lamp-based platforms

Track lamp hours proactively. Most Christie UHP lamps should be replaced at 2,000 hours; Xenon at 1,500-2,500 depending on model. Operating beyond rated life dramatically increases ballast stress and can damage the power stage. Set alerts at 80% of rated life.

04

Laser Derating Awareness

Laser & RGB platforms

If your Christie laser projector displays an L01 (laser derating) warning, do not ignore it. This is the system's self-protection mechanism activating. Continued operation will cause permanent diode damage. Power down and contact us immediately — early intervention can save the entire array.
